Parenthood comes with a lot of learning. No matter how many books you read, videos you watch, or conversations you have with friends and family, it’s completely normal to have questions as you prepare for a new baby or navigate the early stages of parenting.

Women’s Life Center is here to provide a welcoming place to find information, encouragement, and support along the way.

This fall, we’re offering two 8-week Parenting Education Classes for parents and expecting parents in Brunswick County, North Carolina. Families can choose between our virtual Infant Care Class and our in-person Moms Supporting Moms Through Parenting class in Oak Island, NC.

Our fall parenting classes are designed to make helpful information accessible while giving parents a place to ask questions, learn, and build confidence. If you’re looking for parenting classes in Brunswick County, infant care education, new parent support, or parenting resources near Shallotte or Oak Island, we’d love to welcome you.

Fall 2026 Parenting Education Classes

This year, Women’s Life Center is offering two different options so parents can choose the setting and schedule that work best for them.

Infant Care Class | Virtual

Wednesdays, October 7 through November 25, 2026
6:00 PM to 7:00 PM
8-week virtual class

Our Virtual Infant Care Class is a convenient option for expecting parents and new parents who want practical infant care education without having to travel to an in-person class.

Because the class is virtual, you can participate from the comfort of home while still having an opportunity to learn and ask questions.

Preparing to care for a new baby can bring questions about what those first days and weeks may look like. Our Infant Care Class provides a supportive setting where parents can gain practical information and feel more prepared for the transition into caring for an infant.

For families searching for a virtual infant care class in Brunswick County, NC, online parenting education, new parent classes, or pregnancy and parenting support in southeastern North Carolina, this class provides an accessible way to participate.

Moms Supporting Moms Through Parenting | Oak Island, NC

Tuesdays, October 6 through November 24, 2026
11:00 AM to 12:15 PM

Crossroads Gathering Place
128 Country Club Drive
Oak Island, NC 28465

Sometimes one of the most helpful parts of parenting is having an opportunity to learn alongside other moms.

Our Moms Supporting Moms Through Parenting class offers an encouraging environment for women navigating pregnancy and parenthood. During this 8-week parenting education class, moms can receive practical information while connecting in a supportive setting.

The class meets in person at Crossroads Gathering Place in Oak Island, making it a convenient parenting resource for women in Oak Island, Southport, Bolivia, Supply, Shallotte, and surrounding Brunswick County communities.

If you’ve been searching for parenting classes in Oak Island, NC, support for new moms in Brunswick County, parenting education near Southport, or a local moms support class, this fall session is an opportunity to connect with Women’s Life Center close to home.

Why Parenting Education Matters

There’s no single moment when someone suddenly knows everything there is to know about parenting.

Questions can begin during pregnancy and continue long after a baby arrives. What do I need to know before bringing my baby home? How can I prepare? What should I expect during early parenthood? Where can I find reliable information? Who can I talk to when I have questions?

Parenting education creates an opportunity to slow down, learn, and become more familiar with what may be ahead.

At Women’s Life Center, we want parents to know that asking questions is encouraged. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you participate in a class or reach out for support.

Our parenting education programs are part of a broader commitment to walking alongside women and families throughout Brunswick County.

A Local Parenting Resource for Brunswick County Families

Women’s Life Center is located at 4741 Main Street in Shallotte, North Carolina, and serves women and families throughout Brunswick County.

That includes communities such as Shallotte, Oak Island, Southport, Bolivia, Supply, Holden Beach, Ocean Isle Beach, Sunset Beach, Calabash, and surrounding areas.

Having pregnancy and parenting resources available locally matters. Families shouldn’t have to travel far simply to find a place where they can ask questions or learn more about the resources available to them.

Our fall Parenting Education Classes are one way we’re helping make that support more accessible. With both virtual and in-person options available, parents can select the class format that better fits their circumstances.

Virtual Infant Care Education From Home

Schedules can be busy, particularly when you’re preparing for a baby or already caring for a family.

That’s one reason we’re offering the Infant Care Class virtually.

Participants can join on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM without traveling to another location. This can make parenting education more accessible to families across Brunswick County as well as those in surrounding southeastern North Carolina communities.

The 8-week format also provides more than a single introduction to infant care. Parents have an opportunity to continue learning throughout the fall session rather than trying to absorb everything at once.

For expecting parents looking for virtual parenting classes in North Carolina or infant care education in Brunswick County, our fall Infant Care Class offers another way to prepare for the arrival of a new baby.

Finding Support Alongside Other Moms

Parenting education isn’t only about gathering information. Having an encouraging environment to learn in can matter, too.

Moms Supporting Moms Through Parenting brings women together in person at Crossroads Gathering Place in Oak Island.

The class provides a welcoming setting for learning and conversation while giving moms an opportunity to spend time with others navigating parenting.

Women come into parenthood with different experiences, questions, and circumstances. There’s no expectation that everyone’s journey will look the same.

Our goal is simply to provide a supportive place where moms can learn and receive encouragement along the way.

Pregnancy and Parenting Support at Women’s Life Center

Parenting education is one part of the support available through Women’s Life Center in Shallotte.

Women and families throughout Brunswick County can also turn to Women’s Life Center for services and resources including free pregnancy testing, limited obstetrical ultrasounds by appointment, pregnancy options education, client advocacy, material assistance, community referrals, and ongoing support.

Our services are provided in a welcoming, confidential environment where there’s room to ask questions and learn about the resources available to you.

If you’re unsure which service or resource may be helpful, you’re welcome to contact us. You don’t need to know exactly what you need before reaching out.

Who Can Benefit From Parenting Education Classes?

Parenting classes can be valuable at many points along the journey.

You may be expecting your first baby and looking for infant care information. You may already be a mom and want additional parenting support. You may simply have questions and appreciate an opportunity to learn in a welcoming environment.

Women’s Life Center’s fall Parenting Education Classes were created with that in mind.

The Virtual Infant Care Class provides the convenience of participating from home, while Moms Supporting Moms Through Parenting offers an in-person experience in Oak Island.

Both provide opportunities to continue learning throughout the eight-week session.
